IRS Collections Resumes as of October 1, 2020


The IRS halting collection enforcement activity during the Coronavirus pandemic originally until July 15, 2020. That was extended until October 1, 2020. We recently called the IRS to confirm collections enforcement has resumed as of October 1, 2020. This means they are proceeding on wage garnishments, bank levies, 1099 levies and liens.

For many people not in a good financial position due to Coronavirus, it’s a good opportunity to file for an Offer In Compromise or Currently Not Collectible status.
